Annual Picnic

Each year, the club has a picnic that functions as a social gathering where members can bring their families and friends and introduce them to amateur radio.

WAARC’s  2022 Annual picnic will be held Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at the James City-Bruton Fire Department, 3135 Forge Rd. Toano, VA 23168. See map at bottom of page. Dress is casual attire.
The cost per person is $18.00. A vegetarian option is available at $10.00 per person. The deadline for RSVP/payment date is October 2, 2023. Please make your payment using the PayPal button below.

Timeline for the picnic:

Setup:    4:45pm (Volunteers welcomed – set up tables & chairs, placement of tablecovers, general cleanup, setup of coolers/ice, coffee maker)
Gathering:   5:00pm
Welcome Remarks:  5:50pm
Dinner:                      6:00pm
Cleanup:                   8:30pm (Volunteers welcomed – setting tables and chairs back to their original positions, general cleanup)

Parking options:

  1. For anyone arriving between 4:00pm-4:30pm please park to the rear of the fire station. Use the parking lot entrance on Forge Road past the fire station and DMV parking lot. Follow the drive back around to the rear of the station. There is space for about 26 vehicles.
  2. After 4:30pm when DMV is closed, parking is available in the front of the fire station and DMV.  There are 4 handicap parking spots and regular parking for about 19 vehicles.  Please do not park in the DMV parking lot before 4:30pm. DMV does not like people parking in their spaces who are not there on DMV related business.
