Yorktown Special Event October 19

The last Special Event Station for 2024 will be held in Yorktown on October 19. This event commemorates the 243rd anniversary of the Lord Cornwallis’ and the British Surrender to George Washington and the Americans at Yorktown in 1781. This was the last major battle of the American Revolution and cemented American Independence.

For those in the local area, we will be setting up at the Charles E Brown park in Yorktown, across from the Naval Weapons Station. Set-up will begin at around 8:30am, and we plan to be on the air by 10am. If you have not been out to help with setting up for one of our events, please come out and see what we do to get on the air. We plan to be on the air until about 4PM so we can take down before dark.

If you are trying to work us on HF, we will be operating on 40M around 7.265 MHz +/- QRM. If we switch to 20M, we will be on around 14.265 MHz +/- QRM. The bands are expected to be filled with activity since it is also the same weekend as the Jamboree on the Air for the scouts.

As always, QSL information is available on our Contact Us page. If you have worked all three of our special event stations, please contact the QSL manager with info regarding your contacts so they can send you one of our Historic Triangle certificates.

We look forward to seeing you on Saturday October 19th, whether it be on the air or in person!
