Help for getting on the air

Many have come to the realization that getting their license didn’t really provide everything they needed to know to be successful and enjoy making radio contacts. To assist with this, we have reserved the community room in the Toano Bruton Fire station to provide the information and assistance you’ll need for operating your radio.

Some of the topics to be discussed are:

• – equipment selection
• – how to program your radio
• – repeater and simplex operation
• – antennas, feedlines, and coaxial connectors
• – external power supplies
• – essential test equipment
• – on-the-air procedure and etiquette

There will be ample time for hardy discussion/Q&A.

Bring your radio (batteries charged) and the users manual.
