Rod and Rita are Leaving Us

It was brought up on the ARES Net tonight that Rod Leger K1RQS and Rita Wood K1VXN are leaving the Williamsburg area for new opportunities. They are among the newer members and they helped bring new life to the club. It was exciting to help them both get licensed, and on the air. While they were severely restricted by HOA regulations at their QTH, they managed to set up a modest station and make contacts. They took the CERT class in James City County and were excited about joining the CERT program. They were also very active with club events and were eager to help out anywhere they were needed. You could always hear Rod on the repeater traveling for work, and Rita also joined in once she got her license.

WAARC will definitely miss Rod and Rita, as they were a bright and cheerful addition to the club. We wish them the best as they move on to a different area.
